Pervert filmed himself sexually abusing child then shared images online with another paedophile

Kevin Varley was locked up for 45 months after pleading guilty to indecently assaulting a child under 13, taking an indecent image of a child and distributing an indecent image of a child.

Leeds Crown Court heard Varley, 52, of Hopefield Court, East Ardsley, took footage of the abuse on his mobile phone before sending it to another sex offender in the south of England.

Varley fell under suspicion after the other man was arrested by Thames Valley Police for possessing indecent child images.

The image sent by Varley was recovered by the officers and linked to an internet provider address at his home.

Varley's phone was seized after he was arrested in November 19.

The court heard Varley pleaded guilty to the offences at an early stage and was sorry and ashamed of what he had done.

His employer provided a reference to the court describing Varley as an "exemplary" employee with an "unblemished record."

Judge Penelope Belcher told Varley: "You put your own desires and needs before this child."

Varley was told he must go on the sex offender register indefinitely.
