Robbery at Westgate furniture store - detectives release E-fit

A female member of staff was bundled onto a mattress during a robbery at a Westgate furniture store.

Two men went into the store, in Wakefield city centre, and tried to distract the woman.

But one of the robbers, pictured in this e-fit, pushed her onto the mattress before running off with a bag of money.

The other man then left the store.

The robbery took place at around 2pm on Thursday, July 3.

The first suspect was aged about 30-years-old, 5ft 6ins tall and stockily built.

He had scruffy ginger coloured hair and a very pale complexion.

He had a bruise on the left-hand side of his face, dried blood on his lip and bloodshot eyes.

He was wearing a yellow rugby style shirt with collar, blue jeans and white trainers with a red stripe.

The second suspect was about 5ft 4ins tall, heavily built, short black coloured hair and a very short black beard,

He was wearing a white T-shirt and navy blue jeans.

Detective Constable Michael O’Brien, of Wakefield CID, said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who has information about the identity of not only the man pictured in the e-fit but also the other man who has entered the store with him. Also if anyone was in Wakefield city centre that day and remembers seeing men matching these descriptions following this incident then we would also like to speak to them to help ascertain their movements following this robbery.”
