Suspect seen 'outraging public decency' near River Calder in Wakefield

Police are looking for witnesses after a man was seen 'outraging public decency' twice in Wakefield.

The first incident occurred yesterday afternoon (July 9) between 2pm and 2.45pm in the area known locally as Black Ash Rocks which runs parallel to the River Calder, Durkar, where a man was seen committing an act of outraging public decency

The second incident occurred a short time later between 2.35pm and 3pm near the River Calder to the rear of Calder Park towards Pugneys, where, what we believe to be the same man committing an act of outraging public decency.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20 to 30 years old, approx. 5ft 6, of medium build.

He was wearing a grey baseball cap, what looked like a dark Adidas jacket with stripes on the sleeves from shoulder to wrist and dark jogging bottoms.

Sergeant Karen Stanton of Wakefield District Intelligence Unit said:" We are keen to trace the man responsible as soon as possible and to put in safeguarding measures in place.

"I would appeal to anyone who may recognise the description of the suspect or may have seen this man in the area around that time to get in touch and help police with their enquiries."
