Thieves steal £12,000 worth of electrical tools in Batley

Thousands of pounds of electrical tools were stolen from a commercial property in Batley.

The incident occured on Monday January 18 between 12.30pm and 4.15pm at Greenhill Mills, Grange Road in Batley, where suspects forced their way into a locked container and took electrical tools valued at £12,000.

The items stolen included drills, an angle grinder and a compressor, some of which were bought in Holland and have a 2 pin plug rather than the standard UK plug.

Detective Constable Oliver Coates, from Kirklees CID, said: “We would like to here from anyone who was in the area and has any information about this burglary. The items stolen were of significant value and some of the electrical items are easily identifiable as they have European plug fixtures.

“If any members of the public or tradesman have any information or have been offered such items for sale, I would urge them to get in touch with us.”
