Jordan James Foster, of Ramsgate, Lofthouse, shouted at officers that he was getting paid to take the footage of women's genitals when he was arrested at the concert venue in Leeds.

The 23-year-old appeared at Leeds Crown Court today where he admitted five counts of voyeurism, robbery, threatening behaviour and criminal damage.

Prosecuting, Glenn Parsons, said the first incident involved Foster robbing a woman in the female toilets of Wakefield Westgate Railway Station on the afternoon of April 28, 2019.

The woman had used a cubicle in the station toilets and when she tried to leave was confronted by a man with "wide eyes" who pushed her back into the cubicle and put his hand over mouth to stop her screaming.

He asked the terrified woman if she had any money, so she gave him £10 she had in her purse before he fled.

The shaken woman reported him to a member of staff and Foster was seen outside heading away from the station.

Hours later, a female went to the toilet in a Wakefield city centre pub and noticed another cubicle was locked. She returned to the toilet about an hour later and it was still locked, arousing suspicion.

She then noticed a mirror placed at the gap between the two cubicles and could see a mobile phone reflection in the mirror.

Security was called but Foster fled and was spotted walking away from the premises.

A month later the pub victim saw a police appeal on the Wakefield Express website regarding the robbery at Westgate, and recognised the CCTV images as the man being the same person who was seen walking away from the pub.

A colleague of Foster at the engineering firm where he worked also recognised him from the police appeal and confronted him. Foster admitted it and was made to call the police himself.

He was arrested on May 9, 2019, and a mobile phone seized found and the footage from the city centre pub toilet found on the device.

However, he was then caught again by a security officer in the female toilets at the First Direct Arena on May 28 during the gig performed by British pop singer, Rita Ora.

Foster was challenged and said he was just using the toilet and denied he had a mobile phone on him.

Extra security was called in and Foster had to be restrained. They also found a mobile phone in his back pocket.

It showed that he had taken videos in the cubicle, with each ranging from 11 seconds to 35 seconds in length, and showed the victims' bottom and genitals.

When the police arrived he continued to struggle and swear and claimed he was getting paid to take the videos.

No evidence was found that he had been paid for them.

He had also cut his finger in the struggle and used the blood to write abusive messages to the police on the cell bench at the station - resulting in the criminal damage charge.

Foster was later picked out of an identity parade by the robbery victim at Wakefield Westgate.

Mitigating, Allan Armbrister, accepted the charges were serious but said: "Before these matters he was of good character, was hard working and despite what seems to be social difficulties, he has held that job down for some time.

"He has had time to reflect on his behaviour."

But Judge Simon Batiste rebuffed any suggestion by Mr Armbrister that Foster could receive a suspended sentence.

He said: "In my judgement, only an immediate custodial sentence can possibly be justified."

He jailed him for two years, five months, and made him subject to a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).

This prohibits him from entering any female public toilets, bans him from possessing any device capable of filming that is not available for inspection by the police and is forbidden to wipe any software from such devices.
