The incident happened as the two black cars, possibly a Ford Ka or Fiesta and a Vauxhall Corsa, were heading along Cold Hiendley Common Lane – just off Chevet Lane – towards Shafton.

PC Alan Wilson, said: “It is believed that two black vehicles were racing each other before one of them collided with the cyclist.

“White males in their late teens were seen in the vehicles, with a blonde haired female in the Ford. It is likely that the vehicle involved in the collision will have some damage to its front and near side.”

Anyone who saw this incident, or who has any information about it, is asked to contact PC Alan Wilson on 01924 293033 or via 101.
