An asthma and epilepsy sufferer is not letting her conditions hold her back as she attempts to run 20 charity races this year.
Determined Nicky Shaw has completed 17 race for life challenges so far and now plans to run a further three.
The 44-year-old has ran 5K and 10K races across the country, including in Leeds, Pontefract and Wakefield.
And Miss Shaw, of Hardwick Road, Featherstone, is preparing to run another three races in the coming months, including one in London.
She said: “I have suffered from asthma and epilepsy since I was two-years-old but it has only made me more determined to take part.
“Running is something I really enjoy doing and over the years I have kept pushing myself to run more and more races.”
Miss Shaw is an experienced runner having taken part in more than 50 charity runs during the past decade.
She first started taking part in fun runs before challenging herself to run 5K and 10K races.
Miss Shaw, a former Ackworth Road Runners member, stepped up her training to run in half marathons and marathons across the country.
She then started jetting around the world to take part in races in Malta, Spain and Benidorm.
Miss Shaw said the charity Cancer Research UK has been a big inspiration for her to compete in the races.
She said: “It is a great charity and cancer has affected quite a lot of people close to me I enjoy taking part in the races and like to help raise money where I can. This year I have taken part in more races in one year than ever before and I am determined to finish it having done all 20.”
