Disruption to bus services as roadworks start

Commuters could face months of disruption to bus services while roadworks are in place.

The resurfacing works start on Monday in Tingley which affecting two bus routes.

The 117 and 205 services are both being diverted while the work is carried out on Haigh Moor Road until the end of September.

The diversions will be in place on weekdays only, between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

Service 117 will divert at Heybeck Lane via Baghill Road to Westerton Road.

The bus will pick up and drop off at all stops on the diversion route. However, bus stops on Haigh Moor Road and Batley Road will not be served.

The 205 bus service will divert at Haybeck Lane via Baghill Lane to Syke Road during the roadworks.

Stops on Westerton Road, Haigh Moor Road and Batley Road will not be served while the diversions are in place. The service will also not call at any stops along the diversion route.

Both services are operated by bus company Arriva. The 117 route runs from Wakefield to Leeds and crosses through Tingley. And the 205 bus service goes from Dewsbury to Pudsey and includes stops in Tingley and Morley.
