District to bake this week with temperatures set to soar

The hottest day of the year is set to hit the district this week - according to forecasters, and Wakefield, Castleford and Pontfract could sizzle in temperatures as high as 19 to 21c - positively tropical compared to the Beast from the East and the freezing spring so far.

Scarborough and the Yorkshire coast should see 14 degrees, while temperatures creep ever higher all week, peaking at 22c on Thursday. About time too...

Wednesday - Temperatures are expected to soar to over 21c compared to the spring-like maximum of 14c that we are due to experience today.

Thursday - The hottest day is expected to arrive on Thursday with temperatures schedulded to reach 22c, making it the hottest day of the year so far.

Friday - Although cooler, with highs of 18c, the sun is still expected to shine still.

Saturday - The start of the weekend won’t disappoint either with more of the sun and temperatures still in the late teens.

Sunday - Although the temperatures will remain relatively high, cloud is expected to linger over the region, although no rain is currently forecast.

Monday - All good things must come to an end...as temperatures drop to a more average temperature for this time of year, with a maximum of 15c.
