Doncaster Road in Badsworth closed after lorry hits railway bridge

Emergency services were called to reports of an accident on Doncaster Road between Badsworth and Ackworth at around 10.20am.

Police said one lorry collided with the railway bridge before flipping onto its side and was then hit by second lorry.

The road remains closed in both directions between the New Road junction and the Doncaster Estate junction.

Insp Geoff Carter, of South East neighbourhood policing team, said: “I would ask anybody who witnessed this accident to contact the police on 101.”
