Drivers at crown court over Bethany’s death

Two drivers accused of causing the death of trainee nurse Bethany Jones have made their first appearance at Leeds Crown Court.

James Johnson, 63, from Wyke, Bradford, and Kevin Ollerhead, 44, from St Helens in Merseyside, appeared before the Recorder of Leeds, Judge Peter Collier QC today (Monday). They both face charges of causing death by dangerous driving.

Beth, 18, of Bradley Carr Terrace, South Elmsall, died when the minibus she was travelling in and a lorry were involved in a collision on the M62 at junction 32, near Castleford, on April 26, 2013.

Minibus driver Johnson and lorry driver Ollerhead were both bailed to appear before the same court on Friday, May 2.
