Ebony thanks Yorkshire Air Ambulance heroes

Ebony Meek and her brother Tyler Woods, were hit by a car on Broadway, in Lupset as they walked to Sanpethorpe Primary School, in March.

Ebony suffered a bleed on her brain, fractures to her skull, bruised lungs and cuts to her face.

She was flown by Yorkshire Air Ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary.

Although the six-year-old has no memory of the accident, she was determined to meet all those who helped her.

She visited the air ambulance base at Nostell where she thank the pilot and paramedics who treated her.

Her mum Natasha Fothergill, of Magdalene Road, Lupset, said: “The air ambulance was there in minutes. Ebony has no memory of being in the helicopter.

“But it was really brilliant for her to see it and to meet the pilot and paramedics.

“They were just fantastic.

“She has been determined to thank everyone who helped that day and we are just so grateful to them and proud of her. ”

Ebony also visited PC Ed Davis, a Safer Schools Officer at Lupset’s Springfield Centre, who was first on the scene to help her.

PC Davis said: “Ebony has visited Springfield to say thank-you for my help.

“She is an amazing little girl. Two of my students walking to school also witnessed the accident and were quite shaken and her visit really touched the hearts of everyone.”

Springfield, a specialist school for excluded 14 to 16-year-olds, and Snapethorpe have both been raising money for the air ambulance.
