Eight fire crews called to building blaze in Horbury

A man suffered burns to his arm in a building fire in Horbury.

Firefighters from eight stations were called to the building at Engine Lane at around 6.30pm yesterday (March 10).

The fire took hold of the entire unit, which is used for storing vehicles.

Billowing smoke could be seen from Sitlington and Horbury.

The man suffered burns to his forearm and was taken to hospital by paramedics.

Three large jet hoses were used to extinguish the blaze, by appliances from Ossett, Wakefield, Dewsbury, Skelmanthorpe, Mirfield, Pontefract, Fairweather Green and Rastrick.
