United Nations Anti-Racism Day is on March 20, with the West Yorkshire event being held on 9 March prior to the national one – it is a day for people to come together united against racism, Islamophobia, antisemitism and fascism and to stand in solidarity with refugees and migrants to send a powerful message to those in power that racism will be defeated.

Coun Michael Graham, Wakefield Council’s Cabinet Member for Resources, said: “It is vital that we all stand together in support of all those across the world who are dealing with racism or any other forms of prejudice.
