Extended Aldi makes donation at opening event

Aldi in Pontefract officially launched its newly extended and improved store with a £300 donation to the Prince of Wales Hospice.

Staff at the discount supermarket handed over the cheque to Tracey Mearns, partner development co-ordinator from the hospice, when she reopened the shop on Thursday, October 1.

The South Baileygate store has undergone an extension to its shop floor and now has 130 car parking spaces. The improvements have already created six new jobs, with openings for assistant store managers still available.

The team and I would like to thank everyone for their patience whilst the store was refitted and we hope the community of Pontefract enjoy their newly updated Aldi store.”

Aldi also donated 200 goodie bags and seasonal treats to Pontefract Castle for its Halloween activities. The store will now be open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
