Extra time to quiz Eastmoor double murder suspect

DETECTIVES have been given more time to quiz a murder suspect.

The Express understands police were granted extra time by city magistrates this morning to question a 19-year-old man in connection with the double murder of two teenager girls in Eastmoor.

A post mortem revealed Kimberley Frank, 17, of Barden Road, Eastmoor, and Samantha Sykes, 18, of California Drive, Horbury, died from multiple stab wounds.

They were found at Miss Frank’s flat on Barden Road, Eastmoor, on Saturday.

Forensic officers are continuing their investigations at the flat today, which Miss Frank had only lived in for two months.

Neighbours said she had been at a party at her younger sister Elisa Frank’s flat on Linton Road when an argument broke out on Thursday night.

The victims’ bodies were found on Saturday morning by officers from West Yorkshire Police.

Kent police were given a tip off from a 19-year-old girl, who raised concerns about the safety of Kimberley Frank and Miss Sykes before Wakefield officers searched the Barden Road flat.

A 19-year-old woman, a 23-year-old man and a 19 year-old man were arrested in Dover on Saturday.

The 19 -year-old man was brought back to West Yorkshire and appeared before the court this morning for the private hearing.

The 19-year-old woman and the 23-year-old man were released on Sunday without charge.
