People can find out more about plans to build two new warehouses – which would create 2,000 jobs – at another consultation event in Pontefract.

Caddick Developments submitted a planning application for the Cross Point Wakefield development which would be built just off junction 33 of the M62 near Knottingley.

The developers have now extended a public exhibition of its plans at Pontefract Library until Wednesday, April 8.

Myles Hartley, managing director at Caddick Developments, said: “We are aware that not all members of the community have had the opportunity to view our proposals for Cross Point Wakefield so the exhibition will stay in Pontefract Library until the evening of Wednesday, April 8.

“The design team will also be in the library between 3pm and 6pm on Wednesday,April 8 to discuss the scheme in further detail.

“Feedback from the local community on this development is really important and we are keen to ensure everyone has the opportunity to be part of this public consultation.”
