A car was found blazing in a field in Airedale this morning.
Firefighters were called to the burning Vauxhall Corsa at around 3am at Queens Avenue.
An appliance from Castleford fire station tackled the flaming vehicle which was discovered on the playing fields.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: “We got a call at 03.08 this morning to a report of a car on fire on the playing fields at Queens Avenue.
“The fire brigade appear to believe it was set on fire deliberately.”
Enquiries are ongoing.
