Firm closes with loss of 19 jobs

South Kirkby manufacturer Grain Storage Solutions has ceased trading with the loss of 19 jobs.

The company, which is based at Langthwaite Business Park, was set up in 2011 and makes steel silos used to store grain.

But, after running into financial difficulties, its directors have been unable to secure a buyer and all 19 staff who were working at the site have lost their jobs.

Steven Wiseglass, of administrators Inquesta, said: “The directors concluded there was no alternative but to appoint an administrator.

“Unfortunately, there has been no buyer for the business despite a number of potentially interested parties, and we have regrettably had to make all employees redundant.

“We are now looking to sell the plant, machinery, stock and intellectual property rights to recover money for creditors.”
