First bubble fun run will support two local hospices

Fun runners will be tackling a course with a difference in Pontefract Park next month.'¨The first bubble fun run on Sunday, July 10 is a joint event between the Prince of Wales Hospice and Wakefield Hospice.'¨People taking part will be sprayed with colourful and foamy bubbles at checkpoints along with 2.5k or 5k course.

Organisers of the event - which is sponsored by Haribo, Guy Salmon Land Rover, Trinity Walk and the Wakefield Grammar School Foundation - are hoping to raise more than £40,000 for patient care at the two hospices.

Michelle Foulks, events fundraising co-ordinator at the Prince of Wales, said: “The Bubble Fun Run is a fantastic new event for us and Wakefield Hospice. The event is open to all ages and abilities so is great for families, as well as runners wanting to take on a challenge. We hope that many more people will join us for this fun run with a difference.”
