First World War centenary - share your memories and family stories

Do you have any memorabilia or stories of the First World War passed down through your family or friends?

The Express will be running a series of articles commemorating the centenary of the start of the Great War throughout the year. And we want as many readers as possible to get involved and pay tribute to the men who sacrificed their lives.

We also want to know what life was like in Wakefield on the home front between 1914 and 1918.

We are also planing to print pictures of First World War memorials from around city the featuring as many names of the fallen as possible. We’d also like to reproduce any pictures you may have of family members who fought in the war or feature any other memorabilia such as medals or uniforms.
