The incident happened at around 9pm on Tuesday when the waste was dumped on Back Joffre Avenue in Glass Houghton.

Carolyn Cranton, who lives on the street, said: “It’s just absolutely disgusting that people think it’s okay to do it.

“It is the second time they have done it on our street in the last couple of months.

“Our main problem with was that there was so much of it that no-one could get up and down the road.

Emergency services wouldn’t have been able to get down it either because it stretched up the street.”

Mrs Cranton said the rubbish was moved by Wakefield Council on Wednesday.
