Gritters on standby for cold snap
Gritters are on standby for this weekend as forecasters predict the first snow of the winter could fall.
Graham West, service manager planning transportation and highways at Wakefield Council, said: “All the grit bins in the district have been refilled, as part of our usual preparations for winter. Our fleet of gritters are on standby and are ready to be deployed, if and when they are needed.”
