Guy Fawkes’ night will go with a bang

Bonfire night celebrations will be lighting up the district skies next month.

The bonfire and fireworks display at Castleford Tigers’ ground will take place on Saturday, November 1.

Doors open at 4.30pm, the bonfire will be lit at 6pm and the fireworks display at 7pm.

Tickets need to be bought in advance from the Tigers Den club shop in Carlton Lanes Shopping Centre.

They are priced at £4 for adults, £2 concessions and a family ticket (two adults, two children) at £10.

Whitwood Golf Club bonfire and fireworks will also take place on the same night.

The bonfire, at the club on Altofts Lane, will be lit at 7pm and the firework display will start at 8pm.

Guy Fawkes celebrations will continue at Featherstone Rovers ground on Sunday, November 2.

Gates will open at 6pm and there will be an entry fee of £2 to raise money for the new stands.

The Boat Inn, in Allerton Bywater, will be celebrating Bonfire Night with fireworks on Wednesday, November 5.

Tickets are £2 and need to be purchased in advance from The Boat Inn, on Main Street.

Half of the ticket sales will be donated to the Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract.

The King’s Croft Hotel, on Wakefield Road, Pontefract will also celebrate Guy Fawkes on the same night.

Gates will open at 5pm and the fireworks display will start at 8pm.

The Rustic Arms will also host bonfire celebrations on Wednesday, November 5 from 7pm.

It is free entry and food will be available.

Darrington bonfire and fireworks display will take place on the village field on Saturday, November 8.

The bonfire will be lit at 6pm and the fireworks will start at 7pm.
