A headteacher has been selected for a role supporting other schools in the area.
Barbara Townend, headteacher at Glass Houghton Infant Academy, has been appointed a National Leader of Education.
The new role will also see the school designated as a National Support School and staff at the Newfield Avenue school will work to support other schools in the area in challenging circumstances.
Mrs Townend said: “It is a privilege to be able to work with staff, governors and children in other schools and academies.
“This will ensure we share best practice and secure positive outcomes for every member of the community.”
Charlie Taylor, chief executive of the National College for Training and Leadership, said: “School-to-school support is having a growing impact with huge benefits.”
