Plucky five-year-old Isaac Sheard will run the streets of Leeds this weekend – despite undergoing heart surgery just two months ago.
Isaac, along with his brothers Jacob, seven, and Elijah, three, will take part in the mile-long Jane Tomlinson’s Leeds Mini-Run on Sunday, to raise cash for Leeds General Infirmary’s Save Our Surgery campaign.
His mum, Anne-Marie Sheard, 41, of Moor Top Avenue, Ackworth, said: “We didn’t do it last year, because Isaac was just out of hospital, but the year before he and Jacob did it.
“He came absolute last, but he did it, and they wanted to do the run again. There’s quite a few children running for Team SOS. We wanted to raise £100, but we’ve already got that, so we’re going for £300 now.
“Isaac is doing absolutely brilliantly, he’s back at school and loving it. He’s just got loads of energy, it’s lovely to see.
“We are really noticing the difference, even little things, like his hands and feet are warm now, and he’s started growing too.”
