Heavy rain leads to flooding and road closures

Torrential rain has led to flooding across parts of West Yorkshire.

Lock Lane in Castleford remains closed this morning (Monday) after the River Aire burst its banks.

There is also flooding in parts of Todmorden, Hebden Bridge and Luddendenfoot.

The Met Office has issued warnings of severe weather and the Environment Agency said the county is at risk of further flooding.

It said flood warnings were in place at a number of locations across Yorkshire including the River Calder at Todmorden, River Calder at Brighouse and Elland, the River Ure at Masham, River Nidd at Knaresborough and the River Ribble at Settle.

Forecasters at the Met Office said it should remain mostly dry today with isolated showers over the Pennines.
