LaserZone at Xscape applies for alcohol licence

LaserZone at the town’s XScape complex wants a licence to sell alcohol and play music seven days a week.

The attraction, where children and adults can shoot each other with laser guns in a dimly lit room, already has a restaurant area but only serves soft drinks.

A brief description of their application on Wakefield Council’s website reads: “Laser tag business to include sale of alcohol and live and recorded music and late night refreshment.”

LaserZone is seeking permission to sell alcohol from noon until midnight, Monday to Sunday.

The business has also asked for a licence to play live and recorded music for 14 hours a day and to sell “late night refreshments” for one hour after 11pm.

LaserZone has until May 22 to make its case, before the application is put before councillors.
