Leeds United fans hit out at ‘£5 pie tax’

Angry Leeds United fans have been told they must buy a £5 meal voucher, dubbed the ‘pie-tax’, if they want to sit in the South Stand for upcoming games.

That will take the price of a ticket against Hull City on Saturday up from £27 to £32. Football League clubs are not allowed to raise prices once a season has kicked off.

However, Leeds claim: “The club is looking at ways to encourage our
supporters to use the stadium’s facilities and catering offerings on matchdays.”

The Leeds United Supporters’ Trust hit back: “We will press the club to re-think this ‘pie-tax’ for future games.”
