A group of friends who set up a charity fund to help poorly children will step up their fundraising efforts with a day of live music on Saturday.
Paul Sutton, Kevin Spears, Darren Moore, Reggie Rhodes, Kerry Dilsborough, Terry Dilsborough and Terry Mayes set up the Wheel of Light Foundation in January.
The foundation aims to pay for equipment for children with illnesses and conditions such as cerebral palsy.
Saturday’s event, featuring band Rory Holl Project and DJ Scott Considine, will take place at the Magnet Hotel, Pontefract Road, Castleford.
Mr Sutton, of Garden Street, Castleford, said: “There are a lot of children whose families can’t afford specialist equipment such as wheelchairs and walking frames and we want to help them.”
Tickets, priced £2.50, are available from Mr Sutton, the Magnet Hotel or The Eagle pub in Castleford. All proceeds will go to the Wheel of Light Foundation.
Mr Sutton added: “We haven’t really set a target on how much we want to raise , just as much as we possibly can.
“We will keep on going for as long as people need us to.”
The group has also organised a fundraising golf day on Wednesday, April 29 at Oulton Hall, near Methley.
