Police said that 11 women remained in hospital and some faced a “long road to recovery.”

The council will meet at the Social Centre, on Westfield Lane tonight (Friday) at 7pm to discuss how they can support those involved in the accident.

Several other fundraising efforts are already underway.

Bethany’s friends have set a target of raising £50,000 for air ambulance charities and dozens will run the Upton Fun Run on May 19.
