Man charged in connection with alleged historic sex offence from the 1980s
A man is expected to appear in court after being charged with an historic sex offence.
The 55-year-old man has been charged with attempted rape, inflicting grievous bodily harm, making threats to kill and burglary.
He is due to appear before Wakefield magistrates today after being charged earlier on Wednesday in connection with an historic offence allegedly committed on August 12, 1984 at a flat on Doncaster Road Wakefield.
He was arrested and charged after a recent review of the case by West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET).
