Man cut free from overturned car

A man had to be cut from his car after it overturned last night (Sunday).

Firefighters from South Kirby and Pontefract were called to Sprockhoevel Way, South Kirby, at around 9.55pm.

A West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said the car, a Vauxhall Corsa, had had gone up an embankment and turned over.

Firefighters had to cut the roof off the car to free the man, who was later taken to Pinderfields Hospital.

Crews left at around 11pm.
