Police are appealing for witnesses after a man reported being robbed in an incident in Knottingley.
Wakefield District CID would like to speak to anyone who has information about the incident which took place in a snicket near Stumpcross Lane in Knottingley on Saturday April 2.
It occurred between midnight and 6am after the victim, a 41-year-old man, was approached from behind by two men who assaulted and stole cash from him before fleeing.
The victim was later taken to Pontefract General Hospital by the driver of a car who did not leave his details.
One of the suspects was described as 6ft in height, skinny with a skin head wearing black and grey trainers.
The other was around 5ft 10ins tall and wearing a black beany hat.
Detective Inspector Tim Hunt of Wakefield District CID, said: “We are investigating this reported robbery and would like to speak to any witnesses.
“We are particularly keen to speak with the driver of a car who picked up the victim and took him to hospital. The driver is not suspected of being involved in the reported robbery in any way and we would simply like to speak to him as a potential witness.
“The driver or anyone who has information is asked to contact Wakefield District CID on 101.
