Man who died after being hit by a car is named by police

The 24-year-old man who died after being hit by a car in Morley has been named as Nathan Gallagher.

Mr Gallagher, from Bradford, was in the carriageway of the A653 Dewsbury Road when he was in collision with a Skoda Octavia at around 4.20am on Saturday morning.

He suffered serious head injuries as a result of the crash and died shortly afterwards at Leeds General Infirmary.

Investigations into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing.

And police are keen to speak to anyone who can provide information about Mr Gallagher’s movements in the period leading up to his death.

Detective Inspector Mark Atkinson, of Leeds District CID, said: “As part of our ongoing enquiries, we are not only keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision itself but also anyone who can provide details of Mr Gallagher’s movements, lifestyle and living arrangements prior to his death on May 28.”
