Met Office issues snow and ice warning across Yorkshire

The Met Office has warned of snow and ice this morning.

Forecasters have issued a yellow ‘be aware’ warning across Yorkshire saying up to 5cm of snow could fall and drivers should expect disruption.

A Met Office spokesman said: “Showers of sleet and snow are likely to continue during Sunday morning, leading to further accumulations of 2-5cm of snow in places.

“It will be mainly across northern Scotland and the Pennines, with ice an additional hazard, particularly where skies clear after overnight showers.

“Please be aware of the potential for difficult travelling conditions.”
