Met Offices issues weather warning for West Yorkshire

The Met Office has put in place a Yellow warning for “Scattered heavy thundery showers” today (Monday), which could put parts of West Yorkshire at risk of flooding.

It has warned that up to 15-25mm of rain could fall within an hour.

The Met Office website said: “Scattered heavy thundery showers are expected to develop, and will once again lead to slow-moving downpours across the warning area.

“Some parts will inevitably miss most, or all, of the heavier rain.

“Please be aware of possible localised flooding and disruption to travel.”

The warning is in place until 9pm today (Monday).
