Minute's silence held in tribute to MP Jo Cox
A minute's silence has been held in Wakefield following the death of Jo Cox yesterday.
More than 200 people gathered at the city’s war memorial to pay their respects to the Batley and Spen MP.
Mum-of-two Ms Cox, 41, died after being attacked outside Birstall Library, where she held her advice surgeries, yesterday afternoon.
A 52-year-old man was arrested following the attack, in which Ms Cox was shot and stabbed.
A police investigation is ongoing.
