POLICE believe a missing 13-year-old girl from Shropshire could be in Pontefract.
Jodie Leigh Foster went missing from her home in Minsterley, near Shrewsbury, on Sunday January 9.
Officers describe the teeanger is “extremely vulnerable” and believe she may have travelled to Pontefract or Wakefield where she is known to have contacts.
PC Deb Wheeler, the investigating officer, said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned about Jodie’s safety and well-being.
“She is being treated as a high risk missing person and is considered to be very vulnerable. We are anxious to establish her whereabouts and to ensure she is safe and well.”
PC Wheeler said Jodie could still be in Shropshire but there is a “strong possibility” she travelled to West Yorkshire on Sunday or Monday.
She added: “She may have caught a train from Shrewsbury to the Wakefield area, or attempted to hitch-hike. If anyone thinks they have seen her, please get in touch as a matter of urgency.”
Jodie is about 5ft 3ins tall, of medium build with long black hair containing red colouring. She usually has heavy make-up and speaks with a Yorkshire accent. She is thought to be wearing a dark grey jacket, blue jeans and black Ugg boots.
PC Wheeler added Jodie has a habit of telling people she is 17, even giving a relevant date of birth for that age.
Anyone with information about Jodie’s whereabouts should call Shrewsbury police station on 0300 3333000.
