Burglars stole mountain bikes worth £14,000 from a house in Castleford yesterday (Sunday).

Two bikes - one worth £8,000 and the other worth £6,000 – were taken from the property on Hunt Street at around 5.45pm while the occupants were upstairs.

Police said two men gained access through an unlocked door and attempted to steal a television before being disturbed.

They then fled the property on the bikes (pictured).
