Wakefield Council has launched the Community Trigger scheme which people can use if they are concerned that action is not being taken after reporting an incident.

Coun Maureen Cummings, cabinet member for environment and communities said: “It’s right that communities feel they have a way to challenge if they feel that anti-social behaviour in their area isn’t being addressed.

“Along with our partners the police and Wakefield and District Housing we work hard to ensure that communities are not suffering anti-social behaviour. We know it’s an area of concern and are happy to be able to introduce the Community Trigger.

“We hope it gives communities peace of mind and a simple way to escalate issues if they believe more needs to be done.”

People can use the Community Trigger to alert Wakefield Council, West Yorkshire Police and WDH if they are concerned that:

• A victim has reported anti social behaviour on three occasions in the last six months and no action has been taken.
