Normanton manufacturer supports Pontefract's Prince of Wales Hospice to mark 20th anniversary

Luxury worktop manufacturer Sheridan Fabrications is celebrating 20 years of success.

The Normanton firm will be marking the milestone by hosting a charity fun day to raise funds for Pontefract’s Prince of Wales Hospice later this year, as well as by putting on a number of promotions for its customers.

Sheridan - Europe’s largest manufacturer and supplier of bespoke luxury worktops - was launched in 1996 with two employees in a small factory in Bradford.

It now employs around 200 people at its 130,000 sq ft site on Don Pedro Avenue and has a turnover of around £20m.

Managing director John Blackburn said: “There’s no doubt the value of the market has fallen thanks mainly to the slowdown in housebuilding and home renovation projects in recent times. But sales have picked up again, helped a lot by the trend towards more open plan kitchen-diner spaces and the importance of design and higher-quality finishes particularly for worktops.

“We’re confident we’ll see double digit growth next year, particularly in bespoke worktops as granite and quartz are becoming much more competitively priced. It’s a great time to be celebrating this milestone, and we’ve lots planned to help our fantastic team and our customers share in our success.”
