NOSTALGIA: Prison's football side played cup tie in Ossett

A football cup tie with a difference was played in Ossett in December 1969.

Wakefield prisoners met Ossett Methodists in a cup-tie at the Ossett Town Ground.

As our main picture shows spectators were pretty sparse when Ossett entertained the team from Love Lane.

Football facilities were pretty good at the prison too. The top left picture shows a training session at the prison in the days running up to the match with Ossett. And in the bottom left image the prison team can be seen playing on an all weather pitch in February 1972.
