LETTER: A coat of paint is needed for the Hepworth

At the risk of being labelled a philistine I have always thought that the Hepworth gallery looked more like an air raid bunker than an art gallery.
"It might be improved with a coat of paint but ,in the name of art I tolerate the eyesore.""It might be improved with a coat of paint but ,in the name of art I tolerate the eyesore."

It might be improved with a coat of paint but ,in the name of art I tolerate the eyesore.

However it now appears the Art directors Guild of Wakefield think that it can be improved by building a 12 foot wall in front the edifice.

I believe it is supposed to be some sort of sound barrier for a ‘secret garden’ but will probably end up as a canvas for Wakefield’s street artists.

Surely the million pounds that it has cost could have been spent on something more worthwhile?

I was always told that when you are in a hole- stop digging.

Please stop digging and at least give it all a coat of paint.
