Letter: It’s just a case of using our common sense

Although there were complaints from some about Boris Johnson’s slight “easing” of coronavirus restrictions, I think most folk realise it’s just a case of using your own common sense.

We may not like being isolated from our families and friends but we have to accept there simply is no alternative if we are to beat this cruel virus.

So long as we follow the rules of hand-washing, keeping our kitchen worktops all touchable surfaces like stair rails and door handles clean with a bleach solution and adhering to the social distancing rule, we are in effect making it much more difficult for this virus to touch us.

I don’t think this is the time for political point scoring and ‘dog fights’ either!

We should all be supporting the government right now. This is a worldwide pandemic and few countries if any will have escaped it’s clutches.

If there is one decision Boris Johnson has made that I disagree with it’s the decision to send children back to school - even on a part time basis.

Grown ups face restrictions, and children have been kept in confinement for weeks recently, yet it seems the experts now think it’s safe for them to go to school.

Children have died from this virus as well as adults, and I can well understand some parents being worried about allowing their children to go back.
