LETTER: Thanks for supporting Wakefield’s Christmas card shop

We have had a Christmas card charity shop in Wakefield for more than 20 years.

We are mainly in Wakefield Cathedral selling our 32 different charity cards plus Christmas goods. This year due to more renovations in Wakefield Cathedral we are in a shop on Westgate, between Thomas the Baker and Yorkshire Travel. We are very grateful to all concerned for us being there, especially to the tenants, my wonderful volunteers who are marvellous, rallying around all the time to cover the opening times from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday. We are selling charity Christmas cards for Yorkshire Cancer, Wakefield Hospice, Alzheimers, British Heart Foundation, NSPCC, RNLI, the National Deaf Children’s Society and so on.

We’d also like to say thank you to Thomas the Baker, not only for the wonderful food and drinks, but also for their hospitality and friendship, plus White Rose Opticians for allowing us to use their facilities. Thank-you also to our customers for supporting the charities. We will be there now until December 16.
