Pedestrian, 77, killed after being struck by car in Wakefield

Police are appealing for witnesses after pedestrian Nellie Loughlin, 77, died in hospital from her injuries.

It happened on Westgate End at the junction with Dewsbury Road and Horbury Road in Wakefield, at about 9.45pm on Saturday, October 10.

Mrs Loughlin, who is from Wakefield, was taken to hospital after she was in collision with a grey Audi A3, which was travelling away from Wakefield on the A6038 Horbury Road at the time.

Detectives in the Major Collision Enquiry Team are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or anyone who saw what happened prior to it to contact them.
