Pedestrian left with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Rothwell

A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car when he stumbled on to a road in Rothwell.

The collision happened at around 9pm on Saturday, August 22. The driver of the vehicle initially stopped at the scene, but left prior to police attending.

The pedestrian, a 45-year-old male, was treated for serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

Officers would like to speak to the driver of the vehicle involved - described as a silver small people carrier-type vehicle - and anyone else who witnessed the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to call PC 2197 Warner or PC 4050 Farley in the Eastern Area Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Team via 101.
