Big Feed project to deliver meals to the elderly will continue until the summer
Wakefield Trinity Community Foundation is to continue The Big Feed until the end of June, providing meals for the elderly and vulnerable.
After delivering 9,000 meals since the start of the year, funding has been found ton continue the well-received service until the end of June.
The project leader, James Stephenson says the extension has been made possible thanks to Wakefield Council, LD Nutrition and other partners.
He added: “We are delighted that we have received further backing to continue the event for another three months.
“How the recipients have responded to the meals has been fantastic and we are pleased we can continue to support them throughout the prolonged pandemic.”
The hotline will continue on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, 10am to 1pm, until the end of June.
To order a meal, call 01924 211 611 and select option 6 to receive freshly-cooked meals delivered straight to the door.
