Daredevil fundraisers walk over Lego at Xscape Yorkshire charity event

Any parent will know the agony of stepping on a child's piece of Lego - but would you do it in the name of charity?

Well, these daredevil fundraisers were literally bricking it over Xscape Yorkshire’s latest charity event.

The visitor attraction invited people to take on a Lego walk where more than 15,000 mini blocks were laid out to form a 1.5m track.

People were tasked with walking across them to raise cash for the centre’s official charity partner, Yorkshire Children’s Trust, and £496 was raised in just a few hours.

Those who successfully complete the walk got a pass to Gravity Aerial Adventures plus a special sticker and certificate. Virgin Radio and Leeds United TV presenter, Rich Williams, was on hand throughout the event as compere.

Jade Elliott, Xscape Yorkshire’s Marketing Manager, said: “It takes bravery, speed and guile to get across the Lego walk and we saw that our visitors had bucket loads of those skills."
